Benefits

What your surgical team gains on day one.

Optimised OR scheduling

Surgical time blocks managed by specialty and surgeon with conflict prevention, emergency case insertion and utilisation heat-map reporting so no OR minute is wasted.

WHO safety checklist enforced

Electronic WHO Surgical Safety Checklist with mandatory sign-off at sign-in, time-out and sign-out; the surgical team cannot proceed without completing each pause point.

Surgical team coordination

Anaesthetist, surgeon, scrub nurse and circulator assignments managed from one screen; every team member receives an automated notification when the case is confirmed.

Integrated anaesthesia record

Pre-op anaesthesia assessment, intraoperative drug administration, ventilator settings and post-op orders are linked to the surgical encounter and the patient's EMR.

Implant and instrument traceability

Every implant lot number and instrument set is recorded in the surgical record; product-recall queries return every affected patient in seconds.

OR utilisation analytics

First-case on-time start, turnover time, cancellation reasons and revenue per OR hour by specialty — dashboarded live for OR managers and hospital leadership.

Part of metaSOFT HMS

Operating Room Management is one of 20+ integrated modules on the metaSOFT HMS platform — one database, one patient record, one source of truth.

Operating Room Management is fully integrated with the HMS clinical record. The anaesthesia pre-assessment reads the patient's allergy list and current medications from the EMR. Surgical orders for blood products route to the blood bank; imaging orders route to the RIS. Pathology specimens collected in the OR generate a laboratory request the moment they are labelled.

Financial integration is equally tight. Every implant logged in the OR record posts to the patient's bill at the contracted price. Anaesthesia duration charges are calculated from the intraoperative timestamps. The OR management module feeds surgical cost data to the ERP, enabling contribution-margin analysis by procedure and surgeon without any manual data entry.
